# Ventilator settings
- use lightweight tubing in small children
- avoid dead-space
- FiO2 <0.5 to avoid iatrogenic lung damage
- TV 6-8 mL/kg

- neonate: 30-60
- 6 mo: 25-30
- 1-5y: 20-25
- 5-12: 15-20
- \>12: 12-15
# Special situations
## epiglotittis
- gross oedema → airway obstruction
- may need sevo induction
## croup
- use uncuffed tube 1mm smaller than usual size
- adrenaline prior to intubation
