Relationship between paO2 and SaO2
Implications:
- upper flat part means that if the pO2 alveolar gass falls, loading of O2 is not substantially affected
- lower steep part meas that peripheral tissue can draw large amount of O2 for only a small drop in capillary pO2
CADET face right:
increased CO2, acidosis, increased 2-3 DPG, exercise, and increased temperature shift the curve to the right
